The Printing and Graphic Communication Museum is housed in the Hôtel de la Couronne, built in the 15th century, which served as the town hall from 1604 to 1654. It is located near the historic district of the Lyon printers and within the area classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

The museum's permanent exhibition presents a complete chronological overview from the origins of printing (manuscripts, Gutenberg-type printing press, etc.) to the graphic revolution, the digital revolution and the information society. The museum's collections also offer in-depth thematic studies: the written press, advertising, propaganda, the evolution of techniques, books, etc.
